DISABILITY ACCOMMODATION

Finding the right place to call home

A good home is more than a roof over your head — it’s safety, stability and a sense of belonging. We help people find accommodation that meets their needs, whether that’s supported living, shared housing or a more independent setting.

Our team works closely with families and support coordinators to match each person with the right home and the right level of daily support. It’s about creating the kind of environment where people can settle in, build confidence and live comfortably.

HELPFUL INFORMATION

How accommodation support works

More detail on how we help people find and settle into the right home.

What’s the process for finding suitable accommodation?

We start by understanding your support needs, preferences and funding. This includes accessibility requirements, preferred location, and the type of daily help you’ll need once you move in.

We then connect with housing providers we know and trust, arrange viewings, and help you assess which option feels right. Once a property is chosen, we coordinate the transition — from moving in to setting up daily supports — so the process feels organised and supported.

What kind of daily support is available once someone moves in?

We tailor the level of support to each person. That can include help with personal care, meal preparation, medication routines, or overnight assistance. We also help with community access — maintaining relationships, attending programs and staying active.

Each home has a clear support plan in place, so staff know what’s needed and families can see how routines are managed day to day.

How do you make sure homes are safe and well maintained?

Every property we work with meets clear safety and accessibility standards. We inspect homes before people move in and review them regularly. This covers everything from entry access and bathroom safety to general maintenance and emergency procedures.

If something isn’t right, we work with the housing provider to fix it quickly — no one is left waiting in an unsafe environment.

Can people choose who they live with?

Yes. Where shared living is involved, we prioritise compatibility. We look at age, lifestyle, communication styles and routines to find the best match possible. People are always encouraged to visit and meet potential housemates before deciding. The goal is a comfortable, respectful living arrangement that feels like home, not just a placement.
